On the necessity of walking in pristine clarity on the Dharma Path.
It is written in the Blessed Scriptures: "Hereafter I am not in the world, but these are in the world; and I am coming to you. O Blessed Abbaya, protect them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. While I was with them in the world, I protected them in your name; those you gave me I protected, and not one of them is lost, except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. Now I am coming to you; and these things I speak while I am in the world, that my joy may be complete in them. I have given them your word; and the world hated them, because they were not of the world, just as I am not of the world. What I request is not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should protect them from evil. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world."
gYa Sa Ma Si Ha says that His sheep live in this world, but they are not a part of it. The Sheep of the Great Bon King are sojourners much like the ancient servant of the Divine Source, Ab Ka Da, peace be upon him. Ab Ka Da travelled, with faith and reliance on the Divine Source and His promise, but he did not partake in the affairs of the world.
As the sheep of the Great Bon King, the Covenant People of Dehyuwa, we walk in this dark world but the Light, the True Bon, of Dehyuwa is with us and we hold that light out to others through our example in every day life.
Our words, our actions, and our character must be shining examples of what it is to live in the Covenant of Dehyuwa, although we currently live in this world and are surrounded by debauchery and evil. Every word we speak to others must be words of precious truth. Every action we take must be towards the welfare of all sentient beings. Our character must be like that of gYa Sa Ma Si Ha, who spoke truth and manifested compassion to all He came into contact with.
There is a time and place for the use of certain words, certain actions, and a time when our character must stand up for justice and truth. The sheep of the Great Bon King do not use degrading words towards each other, and our actions towards our Dharma brothers and sisters are always for their benefit. Our character, while manifesting compassion, must also be like that of our Great and Blessed Bon King, exacting justice from those who would seek to ruin the sheep of the good pasture.
While we live in this evil world, we must stand up at all costs to never take upon ourselves the thinking and habits of those who are not a part of Divine Arrangement - this includes never adopting the philosophy or repeating the actions of false religious leaders, corrupt political leaders or other evil people. The sheep are not a part of this world as the Great Bon King was not and is not a part of this world. Those who do not recognise the Divine Arrangement enjoy every single thing of this world that is found distasteful to the adherents of True Bonpo - gross materialism, putting intellectualism above pure Faith, sexual immorality, and so on.
Make sure that your words, your actions, and your character are like a diamond that permeates with and beams forth the Light of gYa Sa in every direction of the world in which you live. Speak words of wisdom from the Eternal Life-giving Law. Let your actions be mirrored by the instructions given to us in ancient times. Let your character be moulded by the hands of Ma Si Ha like a potter moulds his handiwork. If we are truly not a part of this world and are sojourners like Ab Ka Da, then we can not permit the world to mould us into the character that it wishes us to be, which is contrary to the character of Ma Si Ha.
Be like the patriarch Ab Ka Da and walk in this world, but do not be a part of it.
The Blessed Scriptures say: "To you, your eyes are blessed, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous ones have longed to see the things that you see, and they did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. But you hear the parable of the seed. Every one who hears the word of Shambhala and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away the word that was sown in his heart; this is that which was sown on the side of the road. And that which was sown on the stony area of earth, is he that hears the word, and at once accepts it with joy. But having no root in him, he is of a short extent, and when trouble or persecution comes on account of the word, he is quickly offended. And that which was sown in the thorny area is he that hears the word and the cares of this world and the deception of riches choke the word, and he becomes as one having no fruit. But that which was sown on good ground, is he that hears my word and understands and produces fruit, some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty."
